Designated Hospital Facilities:
A designated facility is a hospital certified as being capable of holding a person and treating them against their will if "Probable Cause" exists to do so. The initial 5150 allows for a 72 hour period for evaluation and treatment, however, additional time periods can be initiated by hospital doctors called if cause is proven.
